How You Can Help

We know that you are busy – work, family, friends, life! However, we hope that you will stand with us and show the Park Board that we need a Joint Operating Agreement (JOA) that meets the needs of each of our unique and diverse communities.

There are several actions that you can take to help us get an agreement that meets our needs, as well as the needs of the Park Board. They are:

Show Up

Attend a Park Board public meeting (see them here).

Don’t Forget to Write

Write to the Park Board Commissioners at: PBcommissioners@vancouver.ca and tell them that you support your local Community Centre Association and that getting a JOA that meets the needs of Community Centre Associations across the city, as well as those of the Park Board, is important to you. Check out draft e-mails here that you can copy and paste.

Get Social

Reach out to Park Board staff and commissioners on Twitter and let them know you want an agreement that works for our diverse communities.

Can You Hear Me Now?

Call the Park Board Commissioners at: 3-1-1 and let them know how important it is that we get a JOA that works for each of our diverse communities and the Park Board.

Talk to Us

Share your story with us about why your community centre is important to you. E-mail our blog editor here. We’d like to share your story on our blog.

On our blog, we will regularly post news, information, events and stories about our great community centres and the volunteers who take time away from their family and friends to participate and support our work in each unique community. We are also going to tell you a little bit about the history and background of each of our community centres – we have some great stories to share!
