We are still negotiating with the Park Board to finalize the appendices and to get a Joint Operating Agreement (JOA) that works for the Park Board and our communities. It is a challenging process. The agreement has gone from the Community Centre Association’s legal counsel to the Park Board’s legal counsel. We are now at a place where we feel that we need have the CCAs, our legal counsel and the Park Board legal counsel in a room to address the language that MUST be in the JOA in order for us to be able to sign it.
This meeting is set to happen on Thursday, November 30, at 4:30 p.m.
We remain cautiously hopeful that we can work through the issues and that the Park Board – working in good faith – will agree to address key issues in the JOA through the appendices. If they do, this will be a win for everyone involved. And the CCA presidents, board members and representatives can get back to focussing on our purpose – to support the people of our unique, diverse and incredible communities.
We will keep you posted on the outcome of Thursday’s meeting.
